Pakistan v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 - 1st Test - Day 1's Summary
Pakistan and the West Indies locked horns on the first day of the first Test between the two sides played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana in front of a meagre spectator attendance.
The hosts after winning the toss chose to bat first on a track which looked a good surface to bat on. However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 did not know that later in the day, the pitch was going to make a drastic change and become a surface on which every spinner would
love to have a go at any batting side.
Opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DS-Smith-c1403 continued with his bad form with the bat as he failed again to give a commendable performance after losing his wicket on 13 runs off 26 deliveries as his stumps were uprooted by a superb delivery bowled by Mohammad Hafeez.
Next man in was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386, who also found it difficult to cope with the amount of spin bowling that came his way. However, while he found it difficult to smack the bowl around he managed to hold his ground for 85 deliveries before being adjudged leg-before
wicket on a delivery by left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz. He scored 25 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 led Pakistan, as he lost his wicket after scoring
23 runs off 79 deliveries after giving an edge to wicketkeeper Mohammad Salman on a delivery bowled by left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman.

Chanderpaul’s stumps were shattered by Pakistan’s ace spinner Saeed Ajmal after the West Indies batsman had scored 27 runs on 83 deliveries.
Apart from Simmons, no other West Indian batsman could play freely against spin which basically stopped the hosts from posting a humungous total on the board on the first day. Simmons scored 49 runs off 130 deliveries before being adjudged lbw on a delivery
bowled by Ajmal. At the close of the first day’s play, the Windies scored 209 runs with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KAJ-Roach-c1758 (16) and Devendra Bishoo (10) still on the crease.
