Pakistan v Zimbabwe - 1st ODI - Pakistani players to watch out for
After blowing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 away in the second innings of the one-off Test at Bulawayo last week, the new look Pakistan side must be eager to begin the three-match One Day International series on a winning note when they play the hosts in the first ODI at the
same venue on Thursday, September 8.
The men in green have been pretty good in the recent times although they have not played too much cricket lately and have been facing many off field issues specially when it comes to coaching and captaincy.
Mohammad Hafeez:
Their batting will be led by the prolific opening batsman, Mohammad Hafeez, who has struck a valiant century in the first innings of the one-off Test which Pakistan had won by seven wickets.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 has been a vital cog in the side over the past one year with both bat and ball. Presence of the right handed batsman and the right-arm off-spinner in the team really keeps the side on edge.
The 30-year-old top-order batsman debuted in ODI cricket in April 2003 against Zimbabwe at Sharjah and has till now played in 79 One Day Internationals. He has compiled a tally of 1944 ODI runs at an average of 25.57 including 2 hundreds and 11 half centuries.
Misbah-ul-Haq:
With a strong decade long cricketing profile, the Pakistani skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, will be the visitors’ mainstay in the middle-order.
The 37-year-old batsman is considered to be a better player in Test cricket, but his One-Day stats are also equally encouraging. Since debuting in One-Day cricket in 2002, Misbah has represented his country in 78 One Day Internationals and averages 42.78
with a tally of 2225 runs, including 16 fifties. The prolific batsman has yet to score a ton in this format of the game.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859:
The right-arm off-spinner, Ajmal has been http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdul-Razzaq-c41623. Ajmal has been outstanding with the ball and has consistently
proved himself to be a huge threat against any batting lineup.
The 33-year-old spinner made his One Day debut in July 2008 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, at the National Stadium Karachi. He has been doing ridiculous things with the ball and has proved himself as a potential threat against all the teams he has played.
Since debuting in 2008, Ajmal has played 45 One Day Internationals for Pakistan, picking up 62 wickets at an average of 25.85 and an economy rate of 4.20.
He is well complimented by the all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez in the spin department as both the spinner make a forceful spinning duo.
Junaid Khan:
A lot of expectations will be attached with the rookie pace bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Junaid-Khan-c77037, who had been exceptional with the ball during his debut games but has not performed as such lately.
The 21-year-old left-arm medium pacer made his ODI debut during Pakistan’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in April earlier this year. So far he has played seven ODIs picking up nine wickets.
Khan made his Test debut during the one-off Test against Zimbabwe last week, though he failed to impress with figures of 64 for 1.
Junaid http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-c90628 Tanveer in the pace department.
