Pakistan v Zimbabwe - 2nd ODI - Brendan Taylor rues decision to bat first at Harare – Cricket News Update
The Zimbabwean captain, Brendan Taylor, admitted that it was a bad decision on his part to bat first after winning the toss in the second One Day International of the three-match series against Pakistan, played at Harare on Sunday, September 11.
A confused Taylor told the media reporters that he was very much clear that he had to put http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 into bat but does not know what made him opt otherwise.
"Unfortunately I made a bad decision at the toss, we were totally outplayed today,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 while talking to the media reporters at the post match ceremony. “I wanted to put them in to bat, what in god's name made me want to say we want to bat I don't
know,” he added further.
The 25-year-old wicketkeeper batsman apologised to the players and fans for the wrong decision and said that they are all desperate to perform well against competitive sides. The wicketkeeper batsman was hopeful his side would be putting up a good show in
the coming fixtures.
After opting to bat first, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200 buckled down for a 104-run third-wicket partnership before Tatenda
Taibu, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Utseya-c2145 quick fired in the depth overs to take the side to 225 for 6.
However, the total was too little and too late as Pakistani openers met the target in 42.1 overs, not giving away any wicket. The Zimbabwean bowlers were totally outclassed by the opening duo of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Farhat-c64218, who played beautiful strokes
all across the ground with Hafeez notching up his third ODI century and Farhat scoring a half ton.
The triumphant skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq, was evidently happy with his team’s performance.
"This is the way we want to play,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972. “It is a wonderful performance by the team, especially the bowlers at the start. Then both the openers played very well,” he added further.
The third and the last ODI of the series will be played at Harare on Wednesday, September 14.
