Pakistan v Zimbabwe: 2nd T20I – Match Preview
The new-look Pakistan side must be eager to wrap up its tour of Zimbabwe on a winning note when they play the hosts in the second and the final T20 International of the two-match series at Harare Sports Club today, Sunday, September 18.
The Misbah-ul-Haq led relatively inexperienced side has had a hugely successful tour of Zimbabwe where they emerged triumphant in every game despite being tested on several occasions.
Pakistan Cricket Board selectors had sent an inexperienced squad to Zimbabwe to introduce some new faces and find bench strengths for the upcoming series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and the side remained quite successful as well. Almost all the youngsters
have performed pretty well in the tour.
Whilst Aizaz Cheema has had a stunning start to his international career, Junaid Khan, Sohail Khan and Yasir Shah also impressed the fans and the selectors with some promising performances.
Zimbabwe had come into the series at the back of a successful home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, in which the hosts defeated Bengali Tigers in both the Test and the One Day International series.
The Zimbabweans posed a serious threat to Pakistan in the first innings of the only Test between the two outfits but went on to struggle against the visitors in the remainder of the series.
After facing clean sweeps in the Test and One Day series, Zimbabwe must be looking forward to break the losing streak by showing some decency in the final game and bid farewell to Misbah and his men with thrashing at Harare.
Mohammad Hafeez has been the pick of tourists in the whole tour and must be eager to finish the itinerary in a startling way on the batting friendly Harare pitch.
Though the Harare wicket is traditionally a paradise for the batsmen but Friday’s T0 between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 and Pakistan has shown that it has some movement and bounce in it to offer to the bowlers as well.
Pakistan will most probably field an unchanged squad from Friday’s 85-run win, barring injuries. The only change that could be expected from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Junaid-Khan-c77037 at the cost of Sohail Khan.
Zimbabwe might bring in attacking spinner Prosper Utseya at the expense of Ray Price and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brian-Vitori-c1198, if completely fit, might replace Mpofu in today’s game.
Keeping in view, this is Waqar Younis’ last tour as the Pakistan team's head coach, this would be a fitting farewell for him. The tour has been free of on and off the field controversies so far. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope no post tour controversy
ruins the party.
