http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 vows to deliver an improved performance ahead of 2nd Test – Cricket News Update
The Men in Green Skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, which begins on October 26, 2011, at the Dubai
International Cricket Stadium.
“Slip catching is all about confidence, just like batting. We are really looking forward to doing a lot of practice, and forget the fielding effort in the first match and just go out for a win,” said Misbah ahead of the second fixture.
During Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s series opening match, the Men in Green remained in command of the game till Day 3, after piling up an imposing aggregate 511 runs against the Lankan Lion’s weakened tally of 197 runs, which they batted on the opening day’s
play.
However, with Day 4 on its way, things seemed to slip out of Pakistan’s grasp, especially after a poor fielding exhibit, primarily from the side’s slip, which had put down seven catches in all – which paved an easy trail for the Lankan batters to score 483
runs on Day 5, complements to Kumar Sangakkara’s solid double century of 211 runs.
As for Pakistan’s response, having batted a minor total of 21 runs, the match was finally called off on a draw.
During his post match comments, Misbah comprehended that the stalemate at the series opener will not affect his team, and will be looking to strike back with an improved performance.
The Skipper also lauded his players, primarily the bowlers, for putting up an imposing performance throughout the fixture, but did admit that it was luck, coupled with poor fielding that had them in Abu Dhabi.
“Nobody’s down. The show everybody put up, everyone was focused, everyone bowling their heart out. We tried everything but at the end you can say luck, or the fielding, you can't do anything about,” said Misbah.
On the other hand, the Lankan Captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691 feels that the draw was quite favourable for his side, especially after trailing with a big margin till Day 3, but vows that his squad will now hope to retain a good performance for the remaining
the series.
