Star of the New Zealand bowling was Tim Southee as he troubled the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 with his pace and ability to swing the ball late. This victory is very special for the Black Caps as it has put them on top of the points table of Group A.
Pakistan were in trouble from the start as only one out of their top five batsmen was able to reach the double figures. Kiwi bowlers were able to get some movement off the track which exposed the technical deficiencies of the Pakistan top order.
The Men in Green were facing an embarrassing situation when six of their batsmen were back in the hut for just 66 runs. However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Razzaq-c84421, Umar Gul and Umar Akmal showed some resistance to save the face for Pakistan.
Razzaq looked dangerous for a while and Pakistani fans were hoping against hope that he might repeat his breathtaking knock which he played against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in Abu Dhabi earlier in the year. However, that was not the case and the whole team was bundled
out for only 192 runs in the 42nd over of the innings.
Razzaq remained the top scorer for Pakistan with 62 runs off 74 balls in which he struck 9 boundaries while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604 contributed 38 and 34 respectively.
Tim Southee was the pick of the bowlers for the Kiwis as he broke the back of Pakistan batting by taking three wickets at the start of the innings. Southee bowled superbly in the Test and One Day International series against Pakistan earlier in the season

New Zealand faced a huge setback as their captain Daniel Vettori was injured while fielding early in Pakistan’s batting and he could not take part in the remainder of the match. However, his absence did not make much of a difference as the Men in Green never
looked like chasing the huge target.
