Pakistan will face batting tracks in Sri Lanka, feels Saeed Ajmal – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Samaraweera-c2712 are going to be major threats for the Green Shirts.
Pakistan team will travel to the Island this month and the series will start with a T20 at Hambantota on June 1st, 2012. The Green Shirts are rated as favourites to win the series because of their recent record against
Sri Lanka.
After beating Sri Lanka in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) in all the three versions of the sport, and also defeated the Islanders in the Asia Cup 2012.
The recent record does give a massive psychological edge to Pakistan but Sri Lanka is always stronger at its own backyard and it is nothing less than a challenge for the Green Shirts to dismantle Mahela Jayawardene’s men in the upcoming
battle.
Ajmal expressed that the Pakistani team has been training very hard in Lahore, in order to get used to the weather they are going to witness in Sri Lanka. The off-spinner is of the opinion that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 will carry forward the momentum
in the series but understands that the duo of Sangakkara and Samaraweera is going to create a lot of trouble for Pakistani bowlers, especially in the five-day format of the game.
The wily off-spinner also has an idea that he will be up against flat batting tracks in Sri Lanka, where the bowlers will have to work extremely hard.
"We have been practicing assuming that we will be playing on batting [batsmen-friendly] pitches there. We have been doing well for quite a long time now, so I don't think plans will be difficult for us to execute. They have got some
good batsman like Sanga and Samaraweera, who had scored runs against us the last time in the UAE, but we still produced good results against them," Ajmal expressed.
Ajmal, who is presently ranked number two in Test cricket, wants to surpass http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DW-Steyn-c1409 during the tour.
“I want to be the number-one bowler. I have a lot of variety and plan on using it to trouble the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 batsmen," he added.
