Pakistan will have to be at its best to beat Sri Lanka, says Misbah ul Haq – Cricket News Update
Misbah ul Haq, Pakistan’s Test and ODI captain is of the opinion that the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka is not going to be a walk in the park for the Green Shirts despite their brilliant record in the recent past.
Pakistan lost its previous series in Sri Lanka as the home side outclassed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Younis-Khan-c98325 and company in Tests as well as ODIs in 2009. However, the Green Shirts have been playing some extra-ordinary cricket since the last 18 months
and appear a much settled unit now.
The Asian Champions are scheduled to visit the Island in June and the series will commence with the first T20 at Hambantota on June first, 2012. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 has replaced Misbah as the T20
skipper and many new faces have been brought into the side for all three formats of the game.

Misbah’s men defeated http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) where Pakistan won in all the three versions of the sport comprehensively.

The middle-order batsman knows his team has a psychological edge over the Islanders but he is aware of the fact that Sri Lanka is never easy to beat at home and urged his boys to be at the peak of their game in order to win
the upcoming series.
"Sri Lanka is always a difficult team to play against, especially in their back yard. Obviously we have to be at our best in all departments, because they always come hard at the opposition. But our record against them gives
us the upper hand, and our confidence level is high," Misbah expressed.
Misbah is no longer Pakistan’s captain in the shortest format of the game and has been dropped from the squad as well but the veteran cricketer is not ready to call it a day in the longer version of the sport. However, he feels
relaxed that some of his burden has been shared by Hafeez.
He added, "It [Twenty20] is a format that is widely played in the world and I will keep on playing it. As far as [ending] my international career is concerned. Obviously the burden on me has been eased, and I can now focus on
two formats.”
