Pakistan win ladies' cricket gold in Asian Games 2010

A visibly-excited captain of the Pakistani side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sana-Mir-c88459 said that the side was happy with the performance and happy to win the gold medal. She added, "Pakistan must be proud of us. The way the women's team has played and the way they have handled themselves
on and off the field is really wonderful for Pakistanis living in Pakistan and abroad. There are lot of good things happening in Pakistan and this is one of them."
Pakistan won the final of the tournament rather easily, overcoming Bangladesh by a whopping ten-wicket margin. Bangladesh were bowled out for 92 batting first with player of the match, Nida Dar picking up three wickets.
It did not take Pakistan much time to overcome the score as they scored the requisite runs in 16 overs without losing a single wicket. Dar starred with the bat as well as she smashed an unbeaten half century off only 43 balls to guide her side to a win.
The Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the Pakistani side for their gold medal and said that it was like "a gift to the nation riding on a series of crises".
Silver-medallists Bangladesh were understandably disappointed but the coach Dipu Rai Choudhury said, "If we had won today, we would have been heroes here. But we are still heroes."
In the game for the third-place, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/China-c40996 in a close game that went to the last over. China made 65/6 in their 20 overs and Japan made heavy weather of the target before getting there off 19.2 overs.
Eight teams had participated in the women’s cricket tourrnament. The men’s cricket tournament will start from November 21.
