Umar Akmal, the young middle-order batsman from Pakistan, has said that his team has the ability to bounce back after the loss in the second One Day International (ODI) in Dubai.
The Green Shirts won the first match of the five-match series in a comprehensive manner but they failed to chase down a mediocre total in the second ODI. Akmal himself was the culprit as he played an outstanding innings after a top order collapse but failed
to finish the match.
Prior to the limited overs series, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 1-0 in the Test series and they look favourite to win the ODI series as well.
The youngest of Akmal brothers admitted that his team made some mistakes in the second match but the coaches have had a strong word with the team and he hopes that the result would be different in the third match.
Akmal said, "I'm very confident that we can bounce back from the defeat. As a unit we thought about where we went wrong in the last match and hopefully we can put those mistakes right. The coaches sat down with all of us and analysed the match and I'm sure
we can come back strongly in the match on Friday."
Akmal is disappointed and happy at the same time with his performance in the second match. He is disappointed because he failed to seal a victory for his team and happy that he has found some form at the International level and vows to make it count in future
endeavours.
“I am confident that Pakistan will come back hard at them. On a personal level, the score of 91 has given me much needed confidence and I hope to carry that confidence into the remaining matches," he added.
With three more matches left in the series, all the results are possible, and both the teams would be looking to prove their dominance.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are considered to be among the best limited overs teams in the world and it is a chance for them to improve their ranking. Let us keep our fingers crossed and see how the series shapes after the third match.
