Assalamu xalaikum, wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

Sisters I am in big trouble, I am engaged to a pakistani man and will marry soon, however, I can only cook mexican food, being that I am mexican. His family does not live here to teach me how to cook the food that he likes. There is a pakistani family that I know but I can only go to their house so many times before feeling guilty. If any of you sisters would like to share some of your recipes, I'd appreciated. I am willing to share my recipes. so with the recipes that you send, ask me what you'd like to cook I have many recipes (authentic mexican, not the c**p you get at restaurants) to share. Here's my email aztequedeor@aol.com. Thank you for all your inputs. Allah ( subhana wa ta'ala) will reward you. By the way I am looking for recipes from sisters and not internet links to where the recipes are not authentic. Like I said I am willing to trade my own recipes.

  1. Salaams,

Great to hear this, and I wish you and your future husband all the happiness and success in the future. I think someone above has given some excellent links to Pakistani food websites. However, please do visit http://www.dawn.com/weekly/recipes/rec.h... where you will find some great recipes from some of Pakistan's best known cooking teachers. Regardless of the websites, just remember that Pakistani people (especially the men!) LOVE Chicken Biryani, Chicken Korma, Beef Nihari, Chicken Tikka, Beef Seekh Kebob (with Paratha (oily Pakistani style tortilla...) and Chicken Plow and also (strangely) spicy Chinese food! So if you can just concentrate on these few dishes (but the best you can do) that would be a great start. Remember, Pakistani men are VERY biased towards their mother's cooking (even if his mom burns the food he will still love it...) so this is going to be tough for you in the beginning. But if you can hit it off with maybe Chicken Biryani and Chicken Korma for starts (but really really good)  he will love you very much, trust me! Good luck. Salaams. P.s. I love Mexican food!
