Pakistan’s award winning umpire Aleem Dar has claimed that he believes in his natural abilities rather than the technology in order to make decisions on the cricket field.
This was the third time in a row when Dar was named as the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Umpire of the year for his brilliant decisions on the field. He has been very much consistent since first umpiring in an international game back in 2000.
The 43-year-old umpire claimed, “It’s all about how you cope with pressure on the field. Decision-making is always tough because there is pressure from every corner. You need to control your nerves, especially with the advent of technology.”
Even though not many of Dar’s decisions need to be consulted with technology, he still thinks that it is for the good of the game.
The proud Pakistani stated, “Although I am human and that means the probability of making mistakes exists as well, technology has already made its way into the game to correct those mistakes and that makes it helpful for the sport. However, I rely on my
natural ability and the results are there for you to see.”
The umpire from Pakistan has been near flawless in his decision making throughout his career, but claims to quit his job once he feels he is not good enough for it.
According to Dar no one else will need to come to him and tell him that he is not good enough for umpiring any longer, as he will not be officiating once that time comes.
The players of all teams have a great deal of respect for the Pakistani umpire and the entire nation was proud once he completed his hat-trick of awards at the ICC’s ceremony in London.
Dar was the only person from Pakistan to win any award at the ceremony. There were a few other players nominated in different categories, but all of them missed out.
However, fast bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604 had the honour of being selected in the ICC’s One Day International (ODI) team of the year for his consistent performance in limited-over cricket.
