http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s Chief Selector not satisfied with the fast bowling talent – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Iqbal-Qasim-c76980, Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board, is not happy with the available fast bowling talent in the country and feels that the youngsters are content with bowling at the right line and length, instead of focusing on
speed.
Pakistan has always produced genuine speedsters, who terrorized the batsmen all around the world. The list includes the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193 and Shoaib Akthar.
In the previous decade, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Asif-c1993 emerged through the ranks of domestic cricket in the country and were rated as one of the finest new-ball pairs of the world. However, quite disappointingly, both of them are currently
facing a lengthy ban from competitive cricket due to their involvement in the spot-fixing controversy during the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2010.
While speaking exclusively to Pakpassion, the former left-arm spinner expressed that raw talent emerged through the domestic sport in past but this is not the case anymore.
“In the past, great Pakistani fast bowlers have come through the ranks quite literally by word of mouth. However these days we are not hearing anything of the sort,” Qasim expressed. “The local coaches are silent, there are no names
being mentioned or talked about on the domestic circuit. It's a really worrying trend.”
Since the absence of Amir and Asif, the Green Shirts have relied on the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-Tanvir-c90665. However, all of them have been extremely inconsistent at the international level.

The Chief Selector further added that emerging fast bowlers should look to bowl fast, instead of trying to limit the batsmen through accuracy. He feels that speed is essential to be successful at the world-stage.
He added, “The reason I feel for this is a focus on T20 cricket and 50 over cricket. Perhaps youngsters are not putting their efforts into becoming fast bowlers and instead going for the easier option of bowling medium pace and concentrating
on line and length.”
