Pakistan’s Cricket team comes together to win against Australia
Pakistan is the only team in the world which can complete things for themselves. Similarly, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 is the only team, who can make a thrilling finale out of sure shot victory. But, in the end, it was sweet victory for Pakistan and especially for its new captain Salman Butt.
Butt did what no other captain of Pakistan could do in last 15 years. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has a habit of changing skippers and some big names such as Inzamam, Wasim and Waqar etc have led the team in the last decade and half. None of them were able to achieve a victory against Aussies in Tests. But http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-c88163 Butt did it and he achieved this victory in his first Test as captain.

Umar Gul and Mohammad Aamer made the winning runs as the Pakistani dressing room and fans exploded in celebration. But, it was not without scenes of agonizing tension on the fourth innings at Headingley. Even Pakistan’s skipper admitted their tension on fourth day, “It was a bit nerve-wrecking as a few wickets fell”, Salman said, “Thank God we won”.
Pakistan has a long history of nervous chases. The latest example can be taken of the Sydney Test, where they made a mess out of a simple chase and lost the match. Talking to reporters, Butt said, “All I asked from the boys was to play their natural game. If there was a ball to be hit just go hit it because the only way to put pressure back on the opposition is to grab the opportunities. But this is the way the game is and thankfully things worked our way".
Pakistan complicated the simple equation of 40 runs for victory with seven wickets still standing as Aussies battled till the last ball in their typical fashion. The last duo eventually steered Pakistan home with three men still standing for a historical win. But, the tension in both dressing rooms was obvious till the last ball when Umar Gul hit the winning shot through the covers to record Pakistan’s first victory in Test cricket against one of the greatest sides in cricket.
The main credit for this victory goes to Pakistani bowlers, who belittled the Australian heavyweights. Equally, the new coach in form of Waqar Younis is also responsible for instilling confidence in the bowlers. Butt also appreciated the bowlers and termed them as the difference between the two sides. He said, “It is only the second time in history Australia was bundled out for such a small score. It is very big achievement. Mohammad Aamer, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Umar Amin, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314…everybody chipped in”.
Pakistan will now face England in the upcoming Test series and Butt will be hoping that his team carry same momentum and form against the hosts. Butt will now need to make sure that his young side does not get complacent in the coming days. In five days' time Pakistan begins their four-Test series against England. From the start, the main concern for Butt and co is the fitness of the lethal trio of Pakistan’s fast bowlers in form of Aamer, Asif and Gul.
Butt is hopeful that his budding side will make most of the opportunities presented to them. For Pakistan, who has been plagued by sorry affairs of cricket both domestically and internationally, this victory brings fresh relief for Pakistan cricket and especially to its fans. Pakistan has a plethora of young talent, which if utilised correctly can make Pakistan one of the strongest teams in the world of cricket. Even Butt is hopeful for Pakistan’s future. "It does mean a lot and a new beginning for Pakistan, especially for this young side", Butt said.
