Pakistan’s dismal batting in third T20 disappoints http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 – Cricket News Update
Former skipper Wasim Akram, on Tuesday criticized the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, on Monday, which the Men in Green lost comprehensively by 94 runs.
Although Pakistan managed to win the series 2-1, Akram said that he was disappointed by the capitulating performance of his compatriots in the inconsequential third T20, at Dubai, on Monday night.
"No player appeared to be working hard to win the third match," noticed the veteran left-handed pace bowler, who had skippered the national team in 109 ODIs winning 66.
"Look, if our batsmen can't learn from their mistakes and play consistency, when will they going to do this. The batting was very disappointing," he went on to add in an interview with a private TV channel, Geo News.
Chasing an intimidating 169-run target, set by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 led Australian batting line-up, Pakistan team was bundled out for just 74, their lowest ever total in the shortest format of the game. The 94-run thrashing was also their biggest defeat in the history of T20 cricket.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdul-Razzaq-c41623 (13) were the other notable contributors, while the rest of the batting line up struggled to reach double figures.
The 46-year-old legendary in-swinger, who played 104 Tests and 356 ODIs for his country, further said that the Pakistan team was not ready to learn from its mistakes of past. Akram, who represented his country in four ODI World Cups (1992, 1996, 1999 and 2003), observed that the “tempo and mantra” of the team was the same as it was ten years ago.
"What saddens me is that nothing appears to have changed in Pakistan cricket," said the cricketer turned commentator, who also mentors King http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319’s IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders.
"Ten years back also, we played in the same way and we’re still doing it. After winning the T20 series, players just did not appear to be motivated or have the energy to win the final match and complete a clean sweep of the series which is hallmark of a top team," he added further.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hired the services of legendary batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 next Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
