Pakistan’s revival as an international team rests on bilateral series with India: PTT source – Cricket News Update
A http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) Task team for Pakistan has revealed that the revival of Pakistan’s future as an International cricket team largely depends on India’s decision of resuming bilateral ties.
Both the countries have not played a single bilateral Test series against one another since November 2007. Cricketing ties between both the countries were severed after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 attacks in 2008.
Following the incident, India cancelled their return to Pakistan for the series scheduled to be played in the next year, causing financial loss to the neighboring country.
Despite PCB’s efforts, BCCI kept on increasing tensions with Pakistan and ignored its cricketers for participation in the next three editions of their money spinning Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament.
Pakistan was completely deprived of International cricket after the touring Sri Lankan team was attacked in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 of 2009.
The incident worsened the chances of reviving International cricket in the country, forcing Pakistan to arrange all of its home series in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 or other neutral venues.
Deprived of International cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has been facing financial crisis for hosting its home series overseas.
"Compared to what we earn when we play any other top country we earn many times more if we play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 said in his earlier statement.
The PTT presented a 38-page long report, containing 63 recommendations in the ICC annual conference, which was conducted in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hong-Kong-c2919 at the end of the June.
The task force addressed the number of issues regarding complete set-up of the cricket in the country, which encompassed governance, financial and administrative issues along with the communication problems.
The PTT, headed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Charles-Giles-Clarke-c49957, also proposed a recommendation that the board should not use low quality balls during its domestic competitions; rather they should be using balls of International standard.
PCB officials are not in complete agreement with the report presented by the PTT, as in their view, the task team has not visited the country even once.
The Pakistan board is supposed to submit its suggestions and observations on the task force’s recommendations within 10 days.
