Like many other Pakistani batsman, he blossomed in ODI cricket. Javed, despite of his unorthodox play was very successful in the shorter version of the game. He knew how to build an ODI innings, and how to win matches out of nowhere.

Inzamam is a character of strength and determination. As a result, he really stands out from the other Pakistani batsman of his era. Whenever, his extravagant partners collapsed around him he stood as a pillar of strength among them. His courage and determination
to counter the opposition’s onslaught made him a legend.
“Inzi” could play shots all around the wicket. He was able to pick up the length of the delivery very early. This was the reason he could play shots everywhere. Moreover, his ability to play the ball late made him one of the best players of pace bowling
of his generation.
Naturally, Inzi was strong off his legs. His lofted on drives and pull shots stand out among all his quality stroke play. Inzi was equally good against the spinners, mainly due to his lightening fast foot work. There was never a better sight, than to see
Inzi coming down the wicket and belting the spinner over his head for a straight 6.
Overall, Inzamam has scored the most number of international runs for Pakistan, considering both forms of the game.
In Tests, he has scored 8830 runs in 120 matches at an average of 50 with the best of 329. In his hunt for runs he has scored most number of centuries by a Pakistani player, which are 25. His tally of hundreds includes two double centuries.
At home, he featured in 49 Test matches, scoring 3709 runs at an average of 53 with a best of 329. In pursuit of his runs, he has piled up 11 hundreds.
Outside Pakistan, he has made 67 appearances, scoring 4821 runs at an average of 46 with a best of 184. His tally of runs includes 14 centuries.
