Pakoras vs Pakodas and Papad vs Poppadums?

This may sound stupid but are these the same things with different spellings or are they just different things?

First off, no question is ever stupid (well, at least most of them).  Yours definitely is not!

I think they are the same, just spelling variations.  Maybe depends on the location or region.  India is notorious for having many different words for the same thing, maybe because they have so many languages for one country.

The first two are the same thing and, and the last two are the same thing.

Different spellings. The first two are the same but the d in the second one is pronounced with a r sound.

umm, well, true, they are just spelling variations.

Parora/Pakoda is same thing. Its an Indian Appetizer. Mostly made with different kind of vegetables and spices, dipping them in a batter of gram flour and then deep-frying them.

There are different kinds of Pakoras, but "Paneer pakora", made from paneer (soft cheese) are my personal fav!!! Yummy!!!

The papadum is a thin Indian bread ... very flat. They made it at home from rice flour and other ingredients .. but recipes do vary from region to region. They made in into a round flat bread and then cook it by deep-frying, toasting, or microwaving, depending on the desired texture.

Papadum/Papad is very crispy. They taste more like chips.

Pakoras and Pakodas are the same thing. It is just a different spelling. The same goes for pappads and poppadums.
