Question:

Pale leaves on zucchini plants

My zucchini have grown beautiful yellow male flowers, and more (perhaps female) are developing, but the leaves are pale green in the sunny bunch, a nice deep green on the ones in partial shade. What's up? I thought zucchini were the easiest vegetables in the world to grow!

  1. You are not low in nitrates..you do not want any nitrogen at all on plants once in the blooming/fruiting stage...they need a high phosphrous fertilizer to make the fruit set good and for the leaves ..spray it down with epsom salt  or sprinkle a few tablespoons at the base of each plant and slightly water  it in..Read under fertilizing on this link..it laso says not to use nitrates(nitrogen)..

here is something on epsom salt..great stuff on your lawn and all veggies..will make them bright green as well..
