Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini claims his side will win the Coppa Italia this term
Palermo president, Maurizio Zamparini, has claimed that his side will beat Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia final. He stated that his side has matured over the past one year and will not be in any sort of pressure from the Milanese team.
Palermo defeated AC Milan in semi-finals of the Coppa Italia with a 4-3 aggregate score. Delio Rossi’s side drew 2-2 at San Siro and won the return leg 2-1 at Stadio Renzo Barbera, with goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cesare-Bovo-c8730 securing the team’s place
in the final.
Zamparini is confident that his side has the quality to beat the former Italian champions, Inter Milan, in Rome. He predicted a 3-1 win for his team and revealed that Palermo are a matured side now and can handle the pressure.
He admitted that the team will not throw away their chances like they did last season, when they were deprived of UEFA Champions League qualification after some poor performances at the end of the season.
“Now we're going to the final and we'll beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 3-1. This team is more mature than the one that blew qualification for the Champions League last season,” the President was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Italian also expressed his delight on reaching the final and stated that his side has surely come a long way. He stated that the joy of reaching the Italian Cup final cannot be compared to the promotion of the team to Serie A in 2004.
"This joy cannot be compared with that of 2004 when we were promoted to Serie A. I will only celebrate after we've won the Italian Cup. I was afraid because we were playing against an expert side and the fact that we always mess up in the crunch games,"
he concluded.
The Sicilians will face Leonardo’s Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia final at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on May 29. Rossi’s side will be looking to get rid of the second Milan side in the competition after knocking out AC Milan in the last-four stage.
