The Slovenian insists that the upcoming match against Lecce is immensely important for the club; hints he may leave the Eagles at the end of the season.
Josip Ilicic has refused to rule out any speculation regarding his stay at Palermo, and insists that the recent drop in his form is just temporary and not a crisis.
The tall Slovenian has recently struggled to assert himself in the club’s attacking department, and the fact is gathering much light after the team suffered four defeats in their last five games.
The youngster has keenly asserted that the slip in performance is just a result of the psychological changes he is going through, and he will return back to scoring very soon. The Rosanero star insisted that his focus is completely
on the upcoming Lecce clash, and he will give his 100 percent in the crucial game.
While talking to the press, the 24-year-old said:
“I’m fine, there have been only psychological changes that eventually I will recover from. We are aware that Sunday’s game against Lecce is very important and that’s why I and my teammates will give it our all to get the three
points.”
Ilicic insisted that the team needs time to adjust to the frequent changes in the squad and the coaching department. However, he believes that Palermo will come out of the depression soon. The striker urged the fans to come and
support the team instead of showing a demoralising and destructive behaviour towards the club.
“The whistles? No-one likes to receive them. I believe it is essential that the public support the team because for us to return to doing well we need them. Perhaps they have a different perception to us of what happens.”

“I’m ambitious like any young player to play in the Champions League one day.” He added.
Palermo will take on Lecce on Sunday, March 18.
