  1. I don't know about the PA, but in Israel it's not against any law, and there are many mixed schools and kindergartens.

  2. I don't know about the West Bank and Gaza but back in the early 1990's when I was on a political tour of Israel we went round an Arab Israeli village and the younger residents all stated they had Jewish friends who they regularly met up with in Akko (Acre).

Judaism and Islam are so close that it is natural that they would be allies (The Golden Age of the Jews in Spain was under Muslim rule).

  3. They are not forbidden to associate, but since they usually live in different areas, either all Jewish or all Muslim, they don't usually find themselves being friends.

  5. it depends if the parents of the children allow it

  6. if you want a better insight to the arab/israeli conflict and how it affects children i HIGHLY recommend the documentary Promises. here's an excerpt:

  7. It's not forbidden, but it is rare.  Unless the Muslims live close enough to the Jews that they do not have to pass through a checkpoint.

If you're interested in this topic, check out the documentary "Promises" by BZ Goldberg. It follows the lives of both Palestinian children and Jewish children over the span of a few years.

  8. no no no

people can play with one another, there is no such rules

there are areas that Jewish and Muslim live happily side by side and kids go to the same schools.

obviously in the west bank there are no Jewish people so that makes it more difficult to be together.

  9. My children in America I have not stopped from being friends with Muslims, I don't have issue with that if I lived in Israel, in fact I would actually want it.

That is actually the dream for us all to get along :)

The problem is not with Jewish people, it is with Palestinians inciting their children to hate.  Perpetual hatred is taught from mosques and encouraged by their gov't.  Here is one such clip.  Feel free to look around at others: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/0/0/0/0/0...

  10. You give any kids the chance to run and scream together they will immediately forget all about the c**p their parents say at home.

They just don't seem to notice color or religion.

  11. lol....

    NO!

Growing up in Israel, I had friends who were Muslim and Jewish!

  12. Only if they are carrying guns.

  13. No, not at all.

However, Israel generally forbids it's citizens from travelling in the territories administered by the Palestinian Authority.  So most Israeli children are forbidden from playing with many Palestinian children.

In addition, Israel has instituted separation of Jewish areas from non-Jewish areas - mostly, non-Jews are forbidden from buying homes in Jewish developments, consequently, many neighborhoods are separate. It should be noted that this isn't a case of "separate but equal," Israel gives the vast majority of funding for development and civil services to Jewish communties.

Some Jews and Muslims make deliberate efforts to overcome institutionalized racism and live in the same neighborhoods and have their children attend school together.

  14. No.

There are Muslim kids in Jewish schools.

If you trust the kids parents there is nothing wrong with letting your kid go over to them and play.

We shouldn't involve kids in any conflict and certainly not this one.

  15. They don't want to play with each other.  These children have learned to hate, and they will grow up to be adults who hate.  The cycle is endless.
