If this story plays out like so many unwed mothers across this country ... it's Grandma who raises the baby until the daughter learns (usually by the second pregnancy) to be a mother.

True, the daughter will marry the father of this child ... hopefully it wont end up in a divorce down the road as often happens in these situations.

Go a head, call me a liberal (again) but the truth stands. If you review the statistics or have had this situation in your family, you know.

If Palin does NOT raise her new grand child and DOES NOT finishes raising her daughter ... I am interested in who she gives that responsibility to, and I will share this knowledge with moms and Grandmas across this great nation.

So, can she do it all?

  1. First of all, no child comes with a how-to book, so even infants have different personalities (as babies, my sister and I were night and day according to our parents).

I think each set of parents, or new mother if that be the case, learns as a parent and gains experience with each child.

That being said, Governor Palin's daughter chose to have unprotected s*x, so in my opinion, she chose to accept the consequences, or to put it more gently, the results of that decision.  It is her daughter's responsibility to raise that child, not Governor Palin's.

  2. Even though I really like this woman, I suspect something *has* to give.

I dont believe she will step down and while I dont think she will let her daughter go it alone, I suspect she will have other family members help and step in part of the time to help Bristol with everything.  Wont be easy, for anyone.

  3. opinion does not equal truth

I know several young women that had babies and they raised the child just fine

Just because Obams mother could not handle being a teen mother does not mean all teens are that weak

  4. With five children - it seems a little irresponsible to take up a political career. The information we were given said she managed to balance her work/life  responsibilities -  doesn't look that way to me.

If you have 5 kids  -  you need to choose  -  not stretch yourself in every direction. Something goes wrong.

  5. Looks like another first for Mrs. Palin...first to break the glass window overhead and first to be a VP...she just kicks hillarys' duff all over the place.

  6. http://www.newsweek.com/id/156472/output... think she can. Plus the daughter has practice with kids being from a larger family.

  7. Why not, the father has a family also

  8. Yes, Super Grand Mommy

  9. I dont think McCain would require much of sara anyway if he is elected.

McCain is just using her to gain votes from women, after the election if he wins she can go home and raise all of the babies that come along.
