Like 73% of the republican base, Palin does not believe that global warming is caused by mankind.

(Maybe she should take a chemistry course)

  1. Maybe since mankind has no effect on global warming she is correct for her position.

The Earth has warmed many times over the ages--was mankind responsible then?  Even before coal, cars, factories??  Global warming is a natural phenomenon involving systems, the sun, things far larger and more powerful than mankind could ever hope to influence.

  2. No it does not affect my opinion. I am not that easily influenced by others. If she wants to live in a delusional world than that is her choice. You can't deny the truth forever though, especially when the world starts falling apart around you.

  3. Nope Because she is right.. Contrary to what you libs try to say,it-is a money maker for Gore...That's it. And stupid people fall for it...

  4. Well, she does give the impression of an intellectual lightweight.

Which is probably why the Republican base identifies with her!

  5. I read somewhere that man is only responsible for a fraction of what would otherwise occur naturally.

  6. That's probably the one and only thing I DO agree with her on, actually, though I don't think we agree on some of the finer points.  I'm of the opinion that mankind is not the cause of global warming, though they likely have sped up the planet's natural warming and cooling cycle.

  7. My opinion on her? She is unqualified to be president in so many ways that this makes no difference toward my opinion about that. And her opinion about global warming is not going to affect mine, as she has no understanding about what science is or how it works. She doesn't believe in science anyway, so her opinion doesn't matter. Unless, of course, she ends up as president, in which case she would try to force schools to teach christianity to balance out the evil influence of science.

  8. You'd be wrong in your assertation sir. She has never said that. What she DID say was that global warming is not JUST due to human activity. The 73% Republican base you speak of happens to be better educated on average than Democrats of the same demographic, so p**s off.

  9. It may be the one thing I tend to agree with her on.  I don't think it is all caused by man and maybe not even mostly caused by man.  Still, I don't want her as VP.

  10. I agree with her.

I disagree with McCain on many things.

But I disagree with Obama on virtually everything.

  11. i got news for you. the ice caps on mars are melting (evaporating) too.

what do earth and mars have in common that would cause this...humans...cow farts...GWB?  No, its called the sun and its fricken hot.

maybe you should take a logic course.

  12. nope

  13. Yes, well, Stella Putin is convinced that the fossilised corn dogs burried under the ice caps in Nebraska were planted there to tempt our faith!

  14. Meaning no particular disrespect, maybe you should take a course in climatology.  If you did, you'd find out a great deal about the limitations of that particular scientific discipline.

The "inconvenient truth" is that climatologists aren't even especially certain that global temperature IS rising.  The best recent data shows a cooling trend that has been establishing itself for about three years and that seems more dramatic than the so called warming trend of the previous twenty years.  The "inconvenient truth" is that climatologists have absolutely no idea if the climate is significantly changing or merely fluctuating, and assuming it is changing, they have absolutely no idea as to why.  The less than 2% of total yearly greenhouse gasses that mankind is responsible for just doesn't come close to adequately explaining climate change.  What they do have is a surplus of theories.

Therfore, I conclude that Palin is at least as likely to be right as she is to be wrong.  So, does it affect my opinion?  Well, given that  some of the current climate models that incorporate certain as yet untested presumptions about CO2, and that predict rapid warming as a result of those presumptions, also indicate that there is no reversing it at this point, I'd say her attitude about "global warming" couldn't be less relevant.

So, no, her attitude about so called anthropogenic climate change will not affect my own opinion.  And for the record, I have no particular opinion on so called global warming other than that I will continue to refuse to have an opinion until climatologists learn enough about the climate to produce definitive data.  Right now, they can cite chapter and verse on what the climate does, but they know bupkis about why and how the climate does anything.

  15. Nope. I will be voting for the only qualified presidential candidate come November; and that is still McCain.

  16. I have a degree in science with chemistry being a big part of that...I am not sure what effect humans have on global warming...the experts say the jury is still out on that...and I support McCain/Palin...

  17. it isn't just a question of global warming but for all of humanity to come together and care about everything and everybody whatever that represents. and i don't mean the anti-christ. if that happened global warming wouldn't be an issue.

  18. Smart woman.

She can think for herself - an asset in a public official.

The majority of scientists and economist now agree with her.

Al Gore's book was based on faulty research statistics and and most of the group of "scientists" that support him aren't even qualified in the field.

The UN group that shared the Nobel Prize with him disagrees with him.

Twenty-five years ago, many of the SAME scientists were predicting a "new Ice Age."

What does that tell you about them?

  19. My children are in the gifted program at their middle school and they discuss the theory of global warming and whether it is man made or not. Most believe that it isn't, but that's for each to decide what they want to believe. So no, it doesn't effect my opinion at all.

  20. UHM!

Prove that it is! This is ONLY a theory. Just because many believe it to be true does NOT make it fact.

We have a cooling period now. WHY? Because there was NO sun spots and this has contributed to cooler temps. Stay up to speed before making ignorant comments.

  21. It's only ASSUMED that man has increased the rate of global warming...there is no proof that without man, the world would be perfect.  True, there is proof that certain chemicals we use do harm the environment...there is nothing that states that we are the soul cause.  It's like on a box of cigarettes, it says "your risk of cancer will be increased."  Cigarettes aren't proven to cause cancer, just increase your risk of it.  You can be a life time non-smoker, and still develop cancer.  Same concept.

  22. Cool, if someone that experienced says that, it MUST be true.

She has foreign policy experience cause her country is right next to Russia!

I'm going to the backyard to burn some leaves.  Woot.

  23. Yes. I like her more now.

  24. Yet another of her many faults appears to be ignorance of hard science...

  25. I am not sure what chemistry has to do with it.  Anyway.  If mankind is responsible for global warming are we also responsible for global cooling?

    R. Timothy Patterson, professor of geology and director of the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Center of Canada's Carleton University, says that "CO2 variations show little correlation with our planet's climate on long, medium and even short time scales."

California meteorologist Anthony Watts says the amount of cooling ranges from 65-hundredths of a degree Centigrade to 75-hundreds of a degree.

That is said to be a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. It is reportedly the single fastest temperature change ever recorded — up or down.

Some scientists contend the cooling is the result of reduced solar activity — which they say is a larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases.

  26. Obama ENDORSED Palin! In his DNC speech he boasted about negotiating with the Canadians the Natural Gas Pipeline and the jobs it created and how green it was........SARAH PALIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NATURAL GAS PIPELINE! Thanks for the thumbs-up Obama!

  27. I don't either.

  28. No, doesnt affect my opinion!  Maybe you should take a geology course!

  29. Remo, it doesn't affect my opinion of Palin, because this is exactly what I expected from her almost from the moment I heard her speak for the the first time when she was introduced.  I just had a very bad feeling about her, and did some research on her.  As far as I am concerned, John McCain has indeed "hit this one out of the ballpark"---when it comes any further support I had for him.  It's gone!

Sarah Palin is one of the most ultraconservative candidates to ever appear on the national stage.  And I loathe extremists of any stripe, be it muslim, liberal, or conservative.

  30. There is a huge reward out there being offered if some one can prove man is responsible for global warming, no takers yet.

  31. she's right! we don't have that much power. There is no consensus among scientists that we are responsible for GW.

Maybe you should take a history course to see how climate changes are cylical!
