  1. They have nothing to stand on

  2. Wow. That's enough to give each person in that town $4,029.85.

Some "fiscal conservative" she turned out to be.

    VOTE OBAMA/ BIDEN '08!!

  3. 27 million for a town of 6700?  Sounds like a pretty good politician to me who knows how to get things done.

  4. omg are you seriously ONLY going to mention earmarks for the Right?

    What are all of you people, 12 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

  5. Apparently, she was also for the bridge to nowhere, before she was against it.  But today they touted her for opposing the Bridge to Nowhere.  That's why you have to investigate before believing all the hype.

  6. WRONG!  Governors do not approve or pass budgets.  The States Congress does. SHe can ask for money for projects in her annual budget but it is CONGRESS who approves or pushes the budget back to the Governor.  May I suggest U.S> Government 101?

  7. TO everyone to stop these insane questions on here We all need to stop answering their Stupid hateful nasty questions. This has got to stop. 9. It is an irony in American politics that what is good for the local community, city, county, state, is not what is good for the annual federal budget: pork barrel spending.

Bringing money and jobs to a local community certainly is "good" for the local community.  Looking at our political structure, it really is only the cabinet, the white house, and the supreme court which can "rise above" such banalities.

McCain, as I'm sure you are aware, has never, not since the Keating 5 scandal, offered up pork for a bill to bring Arizona the crown's riches.

But Palin really has led the charge in Alaska against the old boy network frought with excess.  I believe it is McCain's attempt to define himself and his ticket.

McCain, the fly boy that withstood the test of the ages against the gold of DC combined with Annie Oakley the crusador.

It is a ticket that can steal the thunder from Obama's "change" ticket if McCain and camp define it well and clearly.

Will America like Palin?  I don't know, but, it was Hillary that kicked Obama's butt in WV and OH, which, I believe will identify deeply, along with other liberalism is OK but not for me states, with Palin.

Lots more stuff will come out about Palin, but, short of some crime or serious misdeed on HER part, I doubt it will stick because of her appeal to the working men and women that define much of the "swing states".

I attached an interesting opinion piece on Palin by the terrific columnist, David Brooks on the Palin selection.

  10. No. Conservatives are very tolerant to low morality if it comes from republican, They become infuriated only if a democrat does the same.

  11. No, because that is like 25 cents compared to the pork other politicians get for areas smaller than that.

I know, because I used to live in WV, where the king of pork, Robert Byrd, would get MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars for our area, which barely has 5,000 people.

  12. THat's amazing!!!!!

I bet the "lobbying firm" she worked with is STOKED right now, knowing they'll have an Ace in the Hole-val Office!!!!
