At this point, Obama has shown himself to be qualified just by running such a long and successful campaign to win the Dem nomination. I would wager that he has worked harder and successfully faced more challenges these last 18 months on the stump than Ms Palin has in governing Alaska.

Those who see her purely as a VP candidate and not as the candidate who will step into the Oval Office if anything happens to John McCain are kidding themselves.

Look

Military experience is not a running a nation or politics or international affairs or a recommendation of economic know how

Military experience is just that - command of a group of men with a solid one dimensional objective trained to kill does not recommend someone to lead a nation

If your going to hire an army guy or gal than at least get yourself a General who has had dealings with political masters and has some idea of what international relationships are beyond the reasoning of my stick is bigger than your stick

I am not trying to berate the armed forces in any way

But you don't hire a plumber to do electrical work you don't hire a soldier to fix the economy or act as a diplomat or run civil affairs on a domestic level - unless that person brings a lot more to the table than "I served my nation in the Armed Forces" Or you want your nation to be run as if it were a military -

It is odd that a lot of the far right - seem to want America to be run as if it were an Army - but think of that - the ultimate in socialist doctrine every one at the mess table and seeing the national army Dr.?

I am just not sure what an 80 yr old Captain from another era brings to the table if this is the sole recommendation for McCain ? Would you have elected an old Boer war hero to fight world war 2 ? Is there an overwhelming assumption that America needs a wartime President ? If so than look forward to war -

War is the sole purpose of a soldier and a military there is no other purpose for them - If that is the needed ingredient for an American President - then that is what you will get - War

She has more experience as a VP for the Republicans than the Democrats have running for President. At least she proved she can run a state. What did Obama do, HUH? Vote "Present". Obama is an idiot. He never ran/operated anything in his life, and all he ever did was just vote on issues. same with his VP. So if you want to compare a VP with no experience to a President candidate with no experience I'll take that argument any day of the week. McCain 08'
