I am starting to save up for an engagement ring. I have heard about palladium being a great medal alternative to platinum. Just want to here some opinions (preferably women) about the pros and cons. I know that is is cheaper so you can leave that out.

  1. I love all white metals in fact my everyday wedding band is stainless steel! It keeps my gold bands, both the plain & the fancy diamond one from getting banged up......

I've not seen palladium but it sounds lovely...sure, I would be happy with it (now you piqued my interest so I'm now gonna start looking for it, lol)

  2. PRO:

*Strongest metal out there and beautiful!

*Palladium is also tarnish resistant, electrically stable and resistant to chemical erosion as well as intense heat.

*It is slightly whiter, much lighter and about 12% harder than platinum.

*It's naturally hypoallergenic and holds its white color better than other golds.

    CONS:

*if you break your finger, or swell during pregnancy, the only way to get it off is to cut it off.

    *it is scratchable

I got my fiance a titanium wedding band. Will not scratch. Otherwise the two are very similar
