I just heard from a friend online that Palm OS 6 Cobalt will be coming out around October/November THIS year. Does anyone know anything about that? I know Cobalt has been delayed a lot.

  1. lol... Next rumor please.

Cobalt was upheld indefinitely when Palm was still developing it when they decided to rebuild it on a Linux base.

In fact, Palm has since sold their entire software division (PalmSource) to ACCESS in 2005. ACCESS, a Japanese software maker notable for its NetFront browser, renamed Palm OS to Garnet OS last year and is continuing development of the OS. It's possible that ACCESS is readying for its first Garnet OS release, but there will only be the slightest, if any at all, resemblance to the once-almighty Palm OS.

    Follow-up:

Looks like Palm is readying Palm 2.0, codenamed "Nova," which is also believed to be built around Linux. It's not Cobalt, but it's coming from Palm.
