Palm OS-based PDA freezes up

My Palm OS freezes up immediately following the HotSync operation, freezes or resets when opening an application, operates sluggishly, exhibits an unusual display or inconsistent sound, displays a Fatal Error message requiring a reset, or prevents some features within an application from working properly.
