Palm Treo 755p vs. Blackberry 8830 World Edition?

price wise they are pretty much the same. On the Sprint site they are pretty much identical performance wise. So now I must ask you working professionals for your insight...

what is the difference between these two phones?

My work is giving me my first Blackberry. I don't understand what makes a BB so popular and efficient over the Treo and the Motorola smartphone series. I just need a phone to make calls, text, schedule, morning alarm (gotta get to work), and check my email accounts (MS Outlook, & Gmail). Would a BB be overkill for this?

BB is by far the best business device made. i phone is just starting to allow for enterprise servers, corporate email. BB has been the leader in that for years, with very few problems unlike the Treo's. BB is a lot more reliable overall. treo is decent, just not nearly as good as BB. Treo's have a tendency to lock up and need to be reset every so often.

The operating system in the Palm is far more reliable.. And far easier to use.  

So the bosses are just going with a name... As far as Motorola... if you are refering to the Q... it's in the smart phone arena, however, it's the worst device out there.
