Palm centro-sprint!! help!!!!?

Question

ok so heres my story...i got the Palm Centro in February and i got insurance on it and the guy at the Sprint store said "Anything that happens to phone, we can replace it". The other day i spilt a drop of iced tea on my phone and now the middle button that says Palm wont work and the button to scroll down wont work. If I take my phone to the sprint store would I be able to get a new phone for free?(if so can I get a different phone?I was thinking of getting the new Instinct)

OK FIRST THE YOUR PALM PROBLEM...YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT TO THE STORE..YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CALL SPRINT INSURANCE AT 1-800-584-3666 AND THE WAY IT WORKS IS THEY WOULD GIVE A ANOTHER PHONE WHICH WOULD BE THE SAME OR WITH THE SAME FEATURES....

NOW ABOUT THE OTHER PHONE MOST LIKELY SPRINT WOULD TELL THAT YOU ARE GUNA HAVE TO PAY IN FULL FOR THE OTHER PHONE UNLESS YOU ARE WITHIN THE 30 DAYS.....

you definately cant get the instinct. youve got only a couple options because no, sprint will not replace your phone for water damage. my brother is a tech there and knows all about it. if they open the phone up and find any sign of water damage then they wont do a thing for you.

first, you could try finding something else wrong with the phone (even a small problem, like it shuts off randomly, multiple times a day. something like that if its TRUE) but do NOT say that the button just stopped working. they will open it up, and find out wat really happened (its easy for them to find) and refuse to help you. wat i would do is go in, give them a problem i have with it, and if they test it out and ask about the button, just say you spillt some tea on it but have been dealing with that for about a month. but then (insert problem here).

they may replace it for that. if not, your just going to have to pay retail price for a new phone or wait until your upgrade discount comes along when your contract ends.
