Pam Heasman a famous name in greyhound’s training will be remembered

A famous name in greyhound’s trainer Pam Heasman passed away in 2010, by giving a great loss to the Greyhound Association. Pam Heasman has served for many years, as a trainer and a breeder.
She has also owned many greyhounds during her career, she died at the age of 85 at the Kings Lynn Hospital.
Pam has served her duties as the secretary of the Greyhound Trainer’s Association since 1967, ending of this legendary lady’s life has also brought an end to an era.
She was known for keeping stud dogs, used for the breeding purpose, she was famous for being the best stud dog’s keeper.
Although she started her duties when she was young, in 2005, she made herself familiar in the field of greyhounds, by working for the betterment of the sport and greyhounds.
For her notable services, she was rewarded as the Services to Greyhound racing at the BGRG Awards ceremony. She couldn’t make it to the ceremony, so she thanked the association for this prestigious honour through a video call.
The famous trainer also received a standing ovation for her tremendous services for the sport.
In the beginning of her career, when she was young, she started her work as an assistant at the Essex dog kennels, Nazeing and Denver Lodge for trainer Stanley Biss.
Later on, she took the responsibility of taking care of the kennels, she worked as a private trainer for many years.
Then she signed a contract with Hackney and later on with Wembley, where she served her duties as a trainer till she retiered.
Her closest friend Pat Quinn, who was with her the last moment said that "a lovely lady who was totally dedicated to her greyhounds".
Quinn described her friend’s dedication by saying "Pam was the last of the old school,”. She continued by saying "And as my son David said, she's probably now talking greyhounds up above with Stan Gudgin, Paddy Milligan and Noreen Collin."
Pam Heasman performed her action as the representative of the British Greyhound Racing Board. If her major wins are recalled, the main events which made her familiar were the St Legar event in 1976, with greyhound Gold Collar and in 1970, when Pam’s Hi Diddle
gave a hit in the TV Trophy.
Quinn who declared the news of her death said that "Greyhounds were her life, and she achieved so much, even being a director of the NGRC at one point. It has been an absolute privilege to have spent so long with her."
