Women’s Doubles duo Takeisha Wang-Josephine Wu continued their invincible run and overpowered Lorraynny Vicente-Luana Vicente in semi-final match of XXI Pan Am Junior Team Event on July 23, 2012.
This 28-minute tussle was part of semi-final encounter between Brazil and Canada which was played at Sherwood Park in Alberta, Canada.
The local badminton arena was filled to its brim as a huge crowd assembled to support the native shuttlers in this crucial showdown.

They made their intentions clear immediately after a couple of opening rallies in the first set. They fetched four consecutive points and got into commanding position with 6-3 total.
The Canadian campaigners carried this momentum and left their challengers far behind with a giant leap to 9-5 margin. This intensive campaign helped them to place an indomitable figure of 11-6 before the interval.
However, they lost grip after one-minute break and allowed the opposing team to bounce back into the contest.
Lorraynny and Luana did not fritter away this opportunity and made swift progress to 9-11. They maintained this pace in third quarter of the set and established a decent lead by putting a notable figure of 15-12.
Interestingly, this downfall worked in favour of Takeisha and Josephine as they unleashed their best and managed to finish opening set with 21-17 score on the board.
The second set also proved a tough trial of mental and physical strength for both teams as it kept swinging between them all the way to game point situation.
In first half, the local shuttlers were enjoying a comfortable lead but then the Peru campaigners proved themselves late bloomers and brought the contest to the right balance.
