  1. A treaty.

  2. Panama and the United States of America signed the Hay-Buneu-Varilla Treaty in 1903 which granted the US the right to build an interoceanic canal in the Isthmus of Panama, and the right to keep 5 miles of land on each side of the canal (except the cities of Panama and Cristobal-Colon) for the use of the Canal as if they were soverign.

    Hope that helps!

Guess who is the 'big dog' now?

China has set up big container terminals at each end and will fund the widening in addition to wooing next door Venezuela for oil.

Thank you Jimmy, oh and don't forget the Cuban psychiatric criminals coming out of Mariole prison that he also accepted as immigrants to USA..........Poor man
