  2. The drinking age in Panama is 18, but I was an exchange student there and definitely drank when I was 16. Most places don't card, but a few do. I just pretended I didn't speak spanish, and they didn't feel like dealing with the stupid American (haha!) and let me in! Good luck and be safe! Go to Bocas del Toro!

  3. 18.  This link might help you to get additional information if you need any other info.

  4. no clue - whats panama?

  5. AT 18, NO OTHER .

  6. Legal Drinking Age - The drinking age in Panama is 18. Do not drink from open containers of alcohol beverages near a supermarket or grocery store. Do not drink while operating a motor vehicle.

Liquor Licenses – It is lawful for supermarkets to sell all forms of alcoholic beverages and they do keep the prices competitive. A liquor license is not a very hard to get item in Panama.

Panama Beer – We have four beers made in Panama which we will discuss individually. There is a full array of imported beers from around the world. Imported beers sell for higher prices of course. Panama beer runs about $0.35 per can in the supermarket and in bars or restaurants sells for $0.75 to $1.50. Imported beers cost more.

Balboa Beer – This Panama brewed beer is a big seller. It is a full bodied strong beer. If you like stout European beers you’ll like Balboa.

Atlas – Another popular beer that is on the light side. It can remind one of an American beer.

Panama – A nice light beer but on the strong side of light. Very popular.

Soberana – A Panama beer that is on the light side. A nice beer but not a big seller.

Panama wine – You can get a large assortment of European wines and some California wine. The best buys in quality wines are the wines from Chile. They are cheap and great. A nice bottle in a restaurant may run $7.00, much less in a supermarket.

Panama Seco – This is sort of the national drink. It is made from fermented sugar cane. Seco is a clear liquid with a harsh taste. Most North Americans and western Europeans do not like Seco. Seco is generally 80 proof so it packs a big punch; do not take this one lightly. Seco is often mixed with other liquids to make the taste for pleasant. Often Seco is mixed with milk and other things. The milk slows down the absorption so the intoxicating effects can be more gradual. Seco is extremely cheap. A litre of Seco with a bottle of a mix packaged together is usually around $7.00 in a grocery store.

Imported Alcoholic Beverages in Panama – A full array is available. The prices are generally noticeably lower than North America. Chances are if you want it you can find it in Panama, just look hard enough for it.

  7. In Panama, it's 18...although it's not strictly enforced. Just don't go wandering around with open containers...that'll get you into trouble.

But aside from that, go have fun!
