  1. did you use the software that came with your camera and install it on your computer? If not that could be your problem? Also you might have to open the program up before you can down load the images from the camera to the computer. If all else fails just buy what is called a "card reader" and attach it to your USB port. This will alway you to remove the memory card from your camera and plug it into the computer using the reader and use the programs already installed in the computer to see your pictures. Only important thing you need to do with the card reader is make sure it reads your type of memory card before you purchase it. Most card readers will read a wide range of memory cards but a few of them out on the market won't so that's why it's important to check.

  2. while it's doing this, check the drive list - usually by accessing "My Computer" or just "Computer" if you're running Vista - and see if the camera is listed as a removable drive.  if so, you should be able to access it just fine.  The files are in a DCIM folder in a series of other folders based on how many photos you've taken.  If the interface between the camera and the PC doesn't work, try a media card reader.  Many new PCs have them built in or you might have on on the printer or you can get an external one.  If you can read the SD card itself then it seems the camera may be problematic.  But, don't just wait for it to do anything, check and see if it's recognized by the system.
