Panasonic PV-GS12 Camcorder + iMac?

Question

I need to transfer some videos from my camcorder to my iMac. I tried to connect a USB cable but it did not work. So I am open to any suggestions.

You need a firewire cable because video files are bigger than picture files (fire wire can handle more).  Find out how many pins your firewire input is on your computer and your camcorder.  For example 4 pin to 4 pin or 4 to 6, 4 to 8.  It took me a while to figure it out too but it's pretty simple and cheap.  You should be able to buy one online for under $10
