Question:

Panasonic TV picture problem

I have a 10 year old 36" (Diag) Panasonic TV, model CT-36G22 or CT-36G22U. Over the past 4 years I have occasionaly seen the following problem. The picture changes from the nornal view to centered horizontal bar. Over the years I have learned that this only seems to happen within the first 10 minutes after I turn it on, meaning that once it warms up, the problem seems to go away. I have also noticed that when this problem happens, if I hit the front left corner of the stand that the TV is setting on, the problem goes away. Sometimes this requires multiple hits before it stops completely. I have also noticed that by wiggling the TV Cable where it enters the TV sometimes corrects this problem.

Do you think I have a cold solder joint on one of the circuit boards, or, am I trying to get too much life out of this TV, meaning, that it is simply time to replace it? Please e-mail me at brian_wood5@yahoo.com with your thoughts.
