There is a setting in the menu, and there should be a shortcut key on the remote, to allow you to change the "recording quality". You most likely have it on high quality, so if you reduce it a little, it will allow you to fit 4, 6, or even 8 hours on one disc. It should also be an option when you are setting up a new recording.
