Panasonic microwave (model NN-P295) power failure

Question

Hi:Our ''young'' (2+ year old) Panasonic NN-P295 microwave is totally dead now:it happened when the night light was turned on: it immediately burned out with a bright flash and now the whole microwave is dead. (AC outlet still working good: I checked that).Any ideas on what to check? (This is actually my mom's: I am going to go over soon and see if it has any fuses, and I can bring my voltmeter too to do some basic checks).Thanks in advance for any input.
