Question:

Panasonic plasma HDTV TH50PC77U turns off automatically over and over again.?

Hello friends

I bought a new panasonic plasma HDTV (Model: TH-50PC77U). It worked fine for just one day and now it simply turns off automatically over and over again. And the red light next to power button starts blinking 7 times interval with few seconds gap in between.

THe only way to get out of this is to take the plug (Power) out of the socket and re plug it back and turn on the TV. However after another 20-30 mins same thing happens.

What might be the problem? Do you think I should return this? The only reason I bought this was the excellent deal Costco has and also the brand name.

Any suggestions or feedback will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Ram

  1. bad luck. It happens even to the best brands.

Simply return it for another one.

Actually, if you call panasonic they should come and fix it at your home (a 50" Plasma is not that easy to carry around!) for free under warranty.

  2. To the poster above me:

that is total b.s. that plasma tv's are going to be obsolete,

I have a panasonic plasma and it is great.

To the asker of this question :

You probably got a plasma tv that has power supply problems.  I would still exchange it for a panasonic.  Much better than lcd I think.

  3. i would definitly return it. also, get an lcd this time because plasma is an old technology and they are going to obsolete as of 2010.
