  1. If budget is a concern and who's isn't these days, go for the 720 p model!  I'm a technical product demonstrator and I've demonstrated those units for about 3 years.  I have watched the 720 p and 1080 p units side by side and unless you really nitpick and know what to look for, there is not really any difference in how the picture looks.  I know when I buy later this year, I'm going with the 720 p unit.

I checked Sears website and both sets are HD.  Mainly because Through my work, I didn't think they made those in anything but HD.

  2. Depends which is more important to you. The 720p will provide a very nice picture and save you $300.  (this would be my personal choice but I'm thrifty and don't have "refined" taste in my video quality. Very good, is good enough for me.)

But, if you want real high definition you need to go with the 1080p. It allows you to get the full use of any HD programming you might be paying for through cable or satellite.

  3. If u stand them next to each other the 1080p is defo the one to have especially if you ever play video games through it or want a perfect picture when playing DVDs on blue ray.720p is old hat now.

Spend the extra and have a future proof TV.

  4. Neither, I worked as a cable tech for over 2 years and the only problems i came across were with the VERA. One was brand new straight out of the box and it wouldn't turn on. another one I came across wouldn't give any audio. It's not all panasonics, just the vera. remember, you get what you pay for, and with tv's it very true.
