Panda Bear Hamster Question???????????

Question

Okay well I just got my female panda bear hamster, cherry. I've just noticed that she is running her sides against the bars of the cage kind of like a cat does when it wants to be pet or has an itch. I was wondering if this is normal? Is she just trying to put her scent on the cage to mark it as her home or what.

I'm not %100 sure, but I would guess Cherry just wants her scent every where.

Yup she is just settling into her new pad, you may notice that she might climb around her cage and be really active over the next couple of days,this is all normal as she is just getting used to her new surrounding. It's best not to handle her for a few days, just to give her some time to relax and settle down. Good luck with your hammie, they are so much fun!
