not nearly as bad as they used to be, but almost every day for the past week I have had a period of being uncomfortable and feeling like I'm on the edge of having one, then it passes and I'm okay. I do have xanax, but I prefer not to take it, it kinda makes me zone out. My job isn't stressful and I went over 2 months w/ no attacks or jitteriness at all, how do I make it stop, I talked to a therapist before and it didn't help. I've been telling myself it's fine and not to worry, but I'm scared they're going to get really bad again. I feel like I'm about to have one right now just thinking about it and I'm starting to obsess that there is something wrong w/ my heart again, even though dr's told me I'm fine. Lately I've been getting burning feelings in my face, chest, and hands, is that normal?

  1. Well I would try not to take the drugs if you can manage, in the long run they will really s***w with your body and mind aswell.

As for the fear, just look around yourself. Whether you are at work or home, take a moment if you have the time and just realize there really is nothing to be afraid of. I know someone with the exact same problem, and she to worries about having this problem at work.

And for whatever reason, protein really helps with anxiety. So make sure you eat enough of it each day. Some good options are nuts, chicken, meat, fish etc.

One more thing, I know its much easier said than done but don't focus on it all the time. Especially if its a moment when you aren't anxious then just enjoy the moment and the peacefullness. Become aware that when you are relaxed you and your enviroment are just fine, and you are in the same enviroment when you get anxious. Then when you become anxious, after making yourself aware of this a few times, it will be easier to relax.

Worring about your worry will only make it worse.

  2. When having an attack you do worry about your heart as your so consious of it beating fast and that makes the attack worse try deep breathes but slowly if you breath too fast it will make you worse. I would go back to the Doctors.

I know this is really hard but you have been tested so your heart will be ok. The burning feelings you get are because your panicky.

Although I think speaking to someone is helpful its really up to you to get over this, have confidence in yourself you can get over this - I have.

    Good Luck
