Pankaj Advani believes new season is the right time for him to shine – Snooker Update
One of the emerging snooker talents of India, Pankaj Advani performed impressively in the domestic and international events of the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) and the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF). This effectively
booked him a place in the professional circuit of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA).
With his classy form in the ACBS Asian Snooker Championship, he was able to book his place in the professional circuit. He was up against his compatriot, Aditya Mehta and lost to him by the score line of 7-5. Despite losing the final match, he was selected
for the professional tour because Mehta already qualified for the pro tour through his impressive form in the 2011-12 Snooker Season.
Advani is one of the best Indian billiards players who tried his luck in snooker which brought him into the pro tour. He did not want to come to UK for playing snooker but now he feels that it is the right time for him to prove his talent to the world and
earn his name in the professional line up. He is determined to put his best into the game and grab some important titles during his run in the 2012-13 Snooker Season.
While speaking to World Snooker, Advani said, “In 2003, the world amateur champion did not get an automatic place on the tour. I was still tempted to come to the UK and try to win a place. But then billiards took over for me over the next few years. I believe
that things happen for a reason and that now is the time for me to try pro snooker.”
The youngster added, “One of the reasons I didn't want to come to the UK was that it means spending a long time away from home. But now I have realised that as I am not married and I don't have that kind of responsibility in India, it is the right time for
me.”
He has performed convincingly so far in the new snooker season but has not won any title. He will be participating in the 2012 World Snooker European Tour with the hopes of winning the prestigious title.
