Pansonic pv-gs320 highspeed usb2.0 problem..!?!?

Question

Ok well, I just reformatted my entire computer. I decided I should make some movies since I hadn't been able to use it that much. I have a dell inspiron 8600 and when I try to plug my camera into the computer, the screen on my camera says, PD DOES NOT SUPPORT USB2.0. Now what can I do to fix this, do I install drivers or something?! Please help! I can't capture my videos.:[[[[[

ALL miniDV camcorders use their DV port (not USB) connected to the computer's firewire 400 port (not USB) using a firewire/IEEE1394a/i.Link/DV cable (not USB).

If you don't have a firewire port on your computer, install one. According to this:

the Dell Inspiron 8600 has a 1394 port - this is a firewire port.
