Pants! lol...? help?

Ok, in my school, they require uniforms. I hate it!!! anyway, my question is, why is it that the pants with hard fabric, like st. john's bay, always like fades and turns white when washed? The pants that I have are like a blue. I think that the type of fabric is cotton canvas...??? but anyway, how do i prevent this on the fabric when washing? Thanks!

Wash in cold water, no bleach, low heat in the drier.

Redye them with RIT the color will last longer after that.

Make sure you are washing with cold water.  Do not use bleach.  You might even consider using a milder liquid soap.  Good luck.
