Pantxi Sirieix is a French footballer who plays for Ligue 1 club Toulouse FC. The 31-year-old joined Toulouse FC in 2004 from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247. In 2011/2012 campaign, the midfielder managed to make 20 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Pitchouns scoring two goals in
the process.
The Frenchman was out of contract in the summer and it was rumoured that he will leave Toulouse in the summer. However, the club has offered him an opportunity to stay at the club by offering him a two year extension to his contract.
According to reports, Sirieix Pantxi has signed the contract extension and the form Auxerre man will remain at Municipal Stadium until 2014. Sirieix has hoped to end his career at Toulouse and is more than happy to sign a contract extension.
The former Auxerre man said on the official website of the club's president Olivier Sadran that he is more than happy to keep playing at a club he adores so much.
"I'm happy to continue my adventure at TFC.”
Sirieix Pantxi sees himself as a mentor to the youngsters at the club and vows to help any player who wants to learn from his experience. The Frenchman considers himself as an intermediate link between the coach and team as the players who are reluctant
to go the coach can share their on-field and off-field problems with him.
While talking to reporters, Siriex thanked fans for supporting him through thick and thin and vows to repay the faith by performing well in coming season. Talking about his affection with the club, Frenchman said that the eight years he has spent at Toulouse
are the best years in his professional career and wants to finish his career with TFC.
“It has been eight years since I am here, now it will be ten years. Everybody knows that I am very attached to the club and that my life is here. I thank the club for keeping faith in me.”
Toulouse FC will start their 2012/2013 Ligue 1campaign on August 10, when they will face the reigning champions, Montpellier Herault at Stade de la Mosson.
