Paola Moreno finishes 42nd at Daytona Beach, but happy for first spot on money list
Colombian Paola Moreno, who has moved up to the top spot in the Symetra Tour money list recently, could not do her best at the Daytona Beach Invitational 2012 as she posted an overall 215
to tie for the 42nd position on the leaderboard.
Moreno has done well on the 2012 season and has recorded a victory at the Eagle Classic 2012, putting herself in the limelight.
However, what has caught Moreno’s fans by surprise is that she now stands at the top position on the Symetra Tour money list, which is something she needs to advance to the LPGA (Ladies Professional
Golf Association) Tour.
According to the details, the top-10 players on the Symetra Tour money list will be picked for LPGA Tour card — and the Colombian star has made it certain that she is about to start her LPGA
Tour this time.
Having earned $50,293 so far in the current season, Moreno’s game has come as the fast-learning contender who knows how to play in difficult conditions.
“I’m really excited, that was the goal for the last three events of the year was just try to make as much money as possible to win the first place," she said in her recent interview. “There’s
one tournament left and a lot of money of the line but I’m pretty confident that I can hopefully get a good week and finish strong”.
At Daytona Beach Invitational 2012, the star performer could not judge the ball well on most of the holes, but she seemed to improve her leaderboard position in the season round.
The last round did not go well, as Moreno shot a 73 to further hurt her position on the leaderboard.
She started the round on Sunday with a solid strategy but when it came time to utilise her skills, her confidence waned and her stroke started to lose precision.
The Symetra Tour giant parred the first two holes, but had to face disappointment after she carded a double bogey on the difficult par-3 third hole.
Observers said now that Moreno’s position on the money list is safe, the professional golfer will have to keep a close eye on her rivals in the coming tournaments.
