Paolo Cannavaro’s exclusion from Italian national team surprises his agent: Serie A news
The agent of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paolo-Cannavaro-c29080, is surprised that his client is not part of the Italian National team squad despite a wonderful performance for his club recently.
Paolo, who is the younger brother of former Italian national team captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Cannavaro-c13164, has had a wonderful start to the new campaign and has been instrumental in his team’s success thus far.
Italian manager, Cesare Prandelli, recently announced his squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Northern-Ireland-c2972 and everyone was expecting to see Cannavaro’s name in the list.
Agent, Gaetano Fedele, insists that his client is having a wonderful season with the club and he cannot believe that he is been snubbed by Prandelli. The agent questioned the manager’s selection policy and believes that every national
team manager selects his in-form players but Prandelli does otherwise.
While talking to the reporters, Fedele said, “Cannavaro is having a stupendous campaign and his non call-up is absurd. He’s having an excellent season and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 should select the players who are best performing in the championship.
Evidently that is not the case.”
Fedele has demanded an explanation from the manager and believes that one of the reasons for his snub might be the unusual tactics deployed at Stadio San Paolo. Cannavaro plays in a three man defence at the club, while Prandelli
favours a four man backline.
“That excuse doesn’t stand up. Fabio Cannavaro played in a three-man defence while at Parma and he always played in a four for his country. Cesare Prandelli needs to clear this matter up.”
Italy has already topped the Group C of Euro 2012 Qualifiers and the results of the two games will have no say in the finals standings. Despite that, Prandelli has insisted that he wants to continue the winning momentum and wants
to build a team for Euro 2012.
